Only 3% to 5% of people who are diagnosed with this type of brain tumor will be alive three years later. Now, an experimental therapy that reprograms a person’s own immune cells to attack these tumors is showing some exciting promise. Doctors first harvested immune fighters called T-cells from his blood and then genetically modified them in a lab so they’d recognize and bind to specific proteins on the surface of the brain tumor cells. After a single 10-milliliter infusion of about 10 million CAR-T cells, Fraser’s tumor began to shrink. Three-quarters of the participants had had their brain tumors come back at least twice.

The U.S. Department of Justice has subpoenaed Globe Life Inc. and its subsidiary American Income Life seeking documents related to one of its top life insurance agencies — the Pittsburgh-based Arias Organization. Globe Life executives made no mention of the DOJ probe during a quarterly earnings call on February 8. In October, insurance regulators in Pennsylvania fined American Income Life $130,000 for engaging in deceptive consumer practices. "We do not believe the litigation will be material to Globe Life's overall results or American Income Life's agency operations," he said. Darden told the analysts that "as soon as American Income became aware of" the allegations, AIL hired an outside investigator to look into the matter.

As a single mother and professor, I struggled financially, so we moved into a rental on campus. My two daughters grew up on the college campus where I worked, and the students became mentors. As a single parent, I raised two daughters — now 24 and 18 — in a tiny campus rental with a view of a white barn and sloping mountains. It was 20 years of an eating disorder and the anxiety and stress that comes with it culminating into one moment, he said. But clinicians are seeing a rise in orthorexia among patients, said therapist Jennifer Rollin, founder of The Eating Disorder Center in Rockville, Maryland. Orthorexia is a fixation on eating “clean,” as defined by a set of rules dependent on certain individuals and the context they live in, said Dr. Jennifer Gaudiani, an eating disorder physician and founder and medical director of the Gaudiani Clinic in Denver. When looking at therapy, check for not only an eating disorder specialist, but one with experience with orthorexia, Rollin said. People with orthorexia may find themselves with a team that includes therapists and dietitians, similar to patients in treatment for other eating disorders, Rollin said.

They provide the cheap funding to banks and insurers in exchange for collateral to ensure they get their money back. Insurers are entitled to tap FHLB funding. As the founder and CEO of Success Academy Charter Schools, I've spent decades working with parents and educating students from underserved communities. Too often, I see parents putting so much energy into teaching their kids to act responsibly, clean their room, or do their homework. All of that is important, but there's one thing that many of us are completely forgetting about: how to enjoy life. Sure, that seems like one thing kids do naturally. There's a difference between enjoying life as a young child and being prepared to enjoy life as an adult.

The idea, we Indians were told each time, was to allow the nation to make a clean break once and for all with its colonial past. The question on the minds of many people who follow events in India, is why any name change would be needed. It’s an opportunity to double down on India’s Hindu identity, even in the name by which it is called. The debate is a live one, however: Some disagree, saying that no amendment to the constitution would be needed to change India’s name. Do the country’s Indian Institutes of Technology become BITs?
